2012 Pinewood Derby Results

Open the attachments below to view the results. Congratulations to the top 5 finishers in Heat 2. They advance to the district Pinewood Derby on March 17th. 6 through 10 in heat 2 are the alternates in the event 1 through 5 cannot attend.

February 1 - 7:30 - SMD Roundtable - Priscilla Payne Hurd Pavilion at St. Luke's Hospital. This is a forum to discuss scouting. Usually meant for the Cubmaster and Committee Chair but all are welcome.
 
February 6 - 7:00 - Pack 347 Committee Meeting, Father Gilly Hall at Sacred Heart Church. This is where we brainstorm and plan the pack events. All adult partners of scouts in Pack 347 are welcome and encouraged to attend.
 
February 12 - 9:00AM - Scout Sunday Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Scouts should attend wearing their class "A" uniforms. We process into the church with the Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, our charter organization for mass.
 
February 12 - 9:00AM Joe Corbi Order Forms and Money is due.
 
Februrary 25th - Time TBA - Joe Corbi Pick Up - Father King Hall at Sacred Heart Church
 
February 26th - 3:00 PM - Blue and Gold Banquet - Father King Memorial Hall at Sacred Heart Church.

This fundraiser starts NOW!!
You need to collect money up front.
Orders and Money are due on February 12th at the Scout Sunday Mass.
Delivery is scheduled for February 25th.

Summer Camp 2012

Cub Pack 347 is attending Akelaland Resident Camp July 15th– 20th.

A $100.00 non-refundable deposit(per scout) is due no later than March 1, 2012. Participants registering by March 1st wil receive the discount rate. Participants registering after March 1st will pay the full fee.

Financial assistance is available through the Minsi Trails Council.

Below are the necessary forms. Please return the completed form to your den leader or our camping coordinator, Mark Lambert. All scouts and adults that plan to stay overnight at resident camp MUST have a completed physical. Finally there are instructions and some helpful information on what to pack.

Pinewood Derby 2012

Below are the 2012 South Mountain District Pinewood Derby Rules. Our pack follows the same rules as the District Derby with the following exceptions:

2nd paragraph under Judges: Pack 347 will award trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as well as medals for 4th and 5th. No other category awards.

 

If you have not received your derby car kit yet contact your den leader.
 
Pinewood Derby Weigh-Ins are January 28th in the Father King Hall at Sacred Heart Church, uniform NOT required. Come by anytime between 6:30 to 8:00PM. You will have the opportunity to make as many test runs down the track as you want. There will be a garage area for any last minute adjustments.
 
Once you turn your car into a race official it will be compounded until race day.
 
Scouts are encouraged to name their cars! CARS MUST REGISTER ON THE 28th OR YOU CANNOT ENTER THE DERBY ON JANUARY 29th. If you cannot attend on the 28th please contact Mr. Lambert to make alternate arrangements.

 

Pinewood Derby Pack Meeting is January 29th @ 2:00PM, uniforms required. The race will run as follows:

Heat 1 - Each car will have the opportunity to race 2 times in each lane. The order is random as chosen by the pinewood derby software.

Heat 2 - The top 10 qualifiers from round 1 will race 1 time in each lane. The top 5 advance to the district pinewood derby on March 17th.

Popcorn Fundraiser

This is our most important fundraiser of the year. The Pack Committee is asking each scout to sell $300.00 worth of popcorn.

October 21 - 7:00 PM - Pack Meeting / Fall Harvest Party - Father King Memorial Hall at Sacred Heart Church. Scouts and parents are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.
 
November 5 - 9:00 AM - Scouting for Food Door Hangars - We will meet at the Father King Memorial Hall and go to our assigned route from there. Scouts must wear their class "A" uniforms.
